News from HumaNature on SF3

Post by Blake00 »

Finally HumaNature have posted something on the official Starflight 3 Discord channel! (they haven't really said much since it was opened)

Redoing the sequel in a more retro style sounds good to me!!

Well there goes that...

Greg's response on his Reddit AMA from a few days ago regarding the chance of official Starflight 3 happening now. :(

"Wow a Starflight question! That's exciting. You get the special honorary Interstel Award. Thanks you know I actually ran a crown fundng campaign on FIG about a year ago to try and do a reboot of Starflight. Our bar was $500k and we only got up to about $450k so we didn't quite make it over to getting funded and the project died. So sad. We had built a very cool prototype and had all kinds of designs for new gameplay and a REALLY cool sci-fi story. Maybe that will still happen again someday but... probably not. As for my favorites from Starflight - haha well it's hard to be the Spemin. I had a lot of fun writing all the races... I also worked on StarControl 2 with my friends Paul and Fred. Don't know if you or your Dad ever played that game."

Bummer. Based on the demo videos they had I thought this was for sure going to happen. You never know though, maybe the torch will be relit in the future.
