I did manage to save once in the captains lounge but any further attempts to save simply do nothing at all even though it does confirm that it's saved. Any reload just reloads the game at it's state upon the first save. The game crashes when I try to orbit the planet you are supposed to fly around on the engine test mission. The game crashes without fail within 20 minutes of gameplay in all different areas under many different circumstances. In short I can't get this game to run at all. I helped beta this back in 2009 and it was much more stable then. . .what has happened?

Ok that was a strange bug. I completely uninstalled the game and re-installed it and now it seems to be working fine. One thing I did on my initial game that may have caused the bug was to hire and assign my crew before ever getting the first mission or even entering the war room.
