I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and the game won't start either. Tried running in 1024x768, also. Running at 1600X900 DEFINATELY doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Is there a way to edit the .dat files associated with the game? I would like to experiment with some naughty ship upgrades (and other things)...
